About the event

In these unpredictable times, our hearts go out to help our neighbors in need, especially our

youngest children. Each year, approximately 200 elementary school students in Fort Lauderdale

experience homelessness. This situation is worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Fort Lauderdale, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale, Social Samaritans of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale South Sunset, and other local partners, is collecting food and comfort items for personalized family care packages. These care packages will include school supplies and necessities for children and their families

experiencing homelessness.

Our liaisons at North Side, North Fork and Walker Elementary schools will give parents a voucher

that can be redeemed weekly at their schools or at larger monthly food distribution events to pick

up donated school supplies and necessities.

Neighbors, businesses and local organizations are invited to join us in providing our homeless

families with what they need to live a dignified, safe and healthy life.

Four Ways to Make A Difference

1. Start your own personal collection drive for select new or gently used items

2. Donate to the Rotary 1090 Foundation. All proceeds will be used to purchase comfort items

for our kids.
