Saving Grace and Her Furry Friends

A little about the Rescue:

Our Mission is to rehabilitate and find loving homes for abused and neglected dogs.

We are a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Animal Rescue Organization that is dedicated to rehabilitating and finding loving homes for unwanted, sick, injured, abused, and neglected dogs. We rescue from the high kill animal shelters, strays off the streets, and owner surrenders in mostly Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. We are not a breed-specific rescue and take in all age groups and health issues. The only requirement is that we have a reliable foster home to care for the dog until adoption and the funds to care for it!

We are always in need of volunteers, supplies, fosters, and adopters.

A little about HANDY:

HANDY’s goal is to provide customized programs that meet the individual needs of a child that take them from early childhood to adulthood.

Since 1985, HANDY has transformed the lives of over 50,000 children and family members in Broward County. Each year, HANDY serves over 1,200 individuals per year. This includes youth ages nine-25, family members and caregivers in Broward County. Our award winning LIFE Program focuses on education, youth development and economic self-sufficiency. The Pantry of Broward

A little about Pantry of Broward:

The Pantry of Broward feeds over 600 seniors and grand families on a monthly basis, providing food boxes containing both nutritious perishable and non-perishable items.

One of our missions is to improve our clients quality of life by relieving them from the stress of food insecurity.

We do this by providing them with a free, monthly, supplemental food box which lowers their risk of food insecurity and frees up their disposal funds for other much more needed expenses like rent, electricity, medical bills, etc. More than 600 individuals (including over 100 grandchildren) benefit from and depend upon our monthly food box program.

We lower their risk of food insecurity and free up some funds for other much needed items. More than 1,000 individuals (including 165+ grandchildren) benefit from and depend upon this food supplement
each month.

Each of our clients meet with one of our Program Service representatives regularly to review their individual needs and together they determine how The Pantry of Broward can best help them during these fast, unpredictable, changing times.

JACK AND JILL CENTER

A little about the Jack and Jill Center:

As the needs of our community have evolved, so have we. Today we are a school for children of high-need working families; our service model has expanded to address long-term and systemic inequality by supporting families as they overcome barriers to build a better life for themselves and their children. This expanded purpose is a response to changes in our community’s needs: hundreds of hard-working families are on our waiting list of subsidized childcare because of entrenched poverty and a lack of high-quality, affordable education options in our immediate area. We strive to achieve our mission by focusing on both the child and the family unit as a whole, offering family strengthening programs so that the entire household, children and parents alike, have the tools they need to succeed.
